Introducing the new Men's Zarkie Dual Zoned Battery Heated Down Jacket — designed in Australia, for Australians.

For years, we’ve sold battery-heated vests and jackets that customers have loved for one main reason: performance. Our high-tech fabric heating systems let people strip away the bulk, reduce layers, and carry their own heater wherever they go.

But while people loved the warmth, we knew there was more to build.

We wanted to create a heated vest people would choose to wear even without the heating system — simply because it looked and felt that good. So that’s exactly what we set out to do. Working with a talented Melbourne designer, we developed the new Zarkie Down Range: a jacket and vest collection that delivers standout style, premium comfort, and an even better heating system than before.

The outer shell is made from a unique waterproof textured nylon, while the 700g RDS duck down fill 90/10 gives it that plush, cocoon-like feel — almost like wearing a luxury sleeping bag. The vest has been designed with three-layer stretch side panels, allowing for a firmer fit so the heating panels sit close to the body for better warmth, without sacrificing flexibility or movement. And of course, we finished it with YKK zips.

Now let’s talk about the heating system.

This is where things get exciting.

The heating panels are made from carbon fibre fabric technology, which means they feel like a regular high-quality fabric rather than a stiff wire-based insert. They can be bent, folded, scrunched, and machine washed without damage. Backed by a two-year warranty on the built-in heating system, they are incredibly reliable and represent the leading edge of heated clothing technology.

The vest features 6 heating panels located in the neck, back, both sides of the chest, and two in the pockets, which warm both the hands and stomach area — a feature that feels seriously luxurious in cold weather.

What makes this vest even better is its dual-zoned heating system. The chest, back, and neck are controlled separately from the pockets/stomach zone, allowing you to customise your warmth depending on the conditions and how you wear it.

Expected heating times are:

Chest, back and neck only

  • High: around 3 hours
  • Medium: around 6 hours
  • Low: around 9 hours

Pockets/stomach only

  • High: around 6 hours
  • Medium: around 12 hours
  • Low: around 18 hours

All zones together

  • High: 2+ hours
  • Medium: 4+ hours
  • Low: 6+ hours

Powering the system is a small, flat 7.4V 5000mAh battery, included with the vest. It sits neatly in the internal front left pocket, so you barely notice it’s there — even when sitting down. The battery charges via USB-C, and when used with a high-wattage USB-C wall charger, it can be fully charged in around 3 hours. It also features a USB-C output, so if you’re caught out, you can use it to charge your phone too — although choosing between a flat phone and turning off your heater might be harder than expected.

And then there’s the collar — one of our favourite features.

It can be worn three ways:
with the collar folded down for a more relaxed look, folded up with the zip down to warm the back and sides of the neck while keeping the front open, or fully zipped up on those bitter, windy days so you can tuck your chin into the down-filled warmth while the heat presses into the back of your neck.

The vest is designed to look great worn on its own, but it’s also versatile enough to layer under a ski jacket, motorcycle jacket, work jacket, or rain shell when the weather gets serious. It’s built to help you handle extreme cold without needing to pile on endless layers.

We wanted to build the best heated jacket we could — without cutting corners and without compromising on materials, design, or performance.

And for a limited time, we’re offering it at an introductory price of $349.

We’re incredibly excited to bring it to you.

Because if you need to wear a vest or jacket, why not wear one that looks great and comes with its own climate control?

Designed in Melbourne. Trusted since 2012.
